ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Piotr, Senior DevOps Software Engineer:
“You will work directly with the Customer. The department is engaged in the development of processes, recommendations, solutions for other departments of the Customer’s company. Tasks include developing tools for finding incompatibilities in cloud resources, preliminary preparation of new cloud accounts \ subscriptions for future use by other departments. The team is also working on solutions that are likely to work in both AWS and Azure.”
The Customer just delivered the Email Relay Service inside it’s company. At the end of the day the Customer delivers internal service that his clients can zoom to get whatever they need.
First example: The Customer did Bulk Mail Service and he delivered service that had programmatic ways of provisioning bulk mail for clients. A Client wants to send 100s emails per day from no-reply ____.com. There is a service that they can zoom, which is simple for them. There is architectural side of it. There is billing side of it so the Customer can properly out charge clients for that. So, this is a complete list of Services for the Customer’s clients that tries to follow Agile DevOps Process of Development.
Somewhere on the line we are going to have something called continuous service improvement. Service is going to be set up, new features are going to be added, Clients’ feedback as well as mostly self-serviceable and automated Service Catalog can be added.
The first one was built in 2 weeks (pipeline, code, testing). Now the goal is to take 10 Services, and 10 Services to build up. There is no finalized list. Some services are more complicated than others.
VPC PROVISIONING ON THE CLOUD. The Customer has his own VPC standards. They are fully customized. Here is an example of the most set up piece.
Programmatically we want to deploy VM service in a customized manner. From service now and once it is approved it should trigger a pipeline and get a standardized VM Provisioning.
Patching is another Service. So basically, we are developing the Customer’s clients providing Solutions.
SOP – documentation.
TNM set up.
Timeline: September 1 – End of January.
Product Owner and Testers are from the Customer’s side.
We’re looking for a Cloud Architect who are familiar with DevOps roles and worked as DevOps.
DevOps: we don’t have DevOps tool set, we have Cloud Development.
Azure and AWS. Principal Engineer should be familiar with both. Others – expertise in one, familiar with other.
No requirements of Kubernetes.
Scrum Master, Solution Architect x 0.5, Security Architect x 0.5, Lead Engineer, Senior Domain Engineer - Azure, Senior Domain Engineer - AWS.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR THE APPLICANTS:
We’re looking for a SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT with strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude, who has a technical depth and breadth across multiple technical domains. Our Solutions Architect is required to be a generalist in the field of Information Technology, have the ability to translate technical subjects to business and senior stakeholders and have the ability to engage and work with technical SME domain owners, such as network, security, compute (Public/Private), automation and storage.
Your primary focus will be to deliver an end to end solution against the scope defined within a specific change activity. You are required to gather and translate a set of business requirements and develop solution visions complete with high-level business case, IT system specifications and ensure the delivery of this solution is met through predefined set of implementation tasks.
In order to succeed in this role, the following knowledge and skills are needed:
More than 6+ years of IT Experience;
Python or Powershell;
Experience in AWS and/OR Azure (1 strong and 1 is intermediate);
Experience within an Architecture role;
Recent experience within architecture, design and implementation of complex, highly available and highly scalable solutions;
Cloud Computing, Server/Datacenter virtualization, Storage, Network;
Enterprise wide Architectural governance, architecture decisions, exceptions, standards etc.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities;
Good communication and presentation skills;
Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management.
NICE TO HAVE:
Previous working experience as a Lead DevOps Engineer.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Strategy and Architecture:
Use appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces. Produce detailed component specifications, assist in the preparation of technical plans.
Apply ethical and robust techniques in the transformation of data from one format/medium to another, in line with organizational policies and procedures.
Change and Transformation:
Investigate operational needs, problems and opportunities. Assist in defining acceptance tests for made recommendations.
Elicit, specify and document business functional, data and non-functional requirements for simple subject areas with clearly-defined boundaries.
Development and implementation:
Recommend/design structures and tools for systems which meet business needs. Produce detailed design documentation.
Specify and design complex hardware components/ systems. Select appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise policies, and ensure they are applied effectively.
Develop and implement quality plans and method statements. Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensure that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
